Brazil offers an impressive world of waterfalls, surrounded by diverse flora and fauna. Especially in the rainy season, the water flows intensify and lead to even more impressive scenarios. The
ecotourism park in the municipality of Primavera enchants as one of these magical places. The municipality is located in Pernambuco, 81 kilometers from Recife.
Along the Ipojuca River you can experience impressive, colorful and powerful - as well as romantic and mystical - waterfalls. The thunder and glitter of this unforgettable natural spectacle exert
a special fascination. At the same time, despite the incredible amount of water that thunders into the depths, waterfalls always have a certain calming effect.
The Urubu waterfall is the flagship of the ecotourism park. The water plunges 77 meters into the depths. Surrounded by the Atlantic rainforest, it forms a
beautiful wild landscape that is worth framing.
The name "Urubu" comes from the vultures that used to nest and mate here. Urubu means vulture in Portuguese. The birds still live there today and often appear as extras in photos.
The park has natural pools with small water fountains fed by local springs that invite you to
bathe. The place has several bars that offer local food and snacks. To
the delight of extreme sports lovers, abseiling and canoeing are also allowed.
A gravel road leads from Primavera through sugar cane fields to the Convento waterfall. The sunrise and sunset are unique. Such moments cannot be described, you just have to experience
them.
The landscape with its rocks, water and Atlantic rainforest is breathtaking during the day. At night, the sound of the water lulls you to sleep. The waterfall is one of the most beautiful places
in Pernambuco.
The nuns of a Catholic mission used to retreat to this hidden waterfall in the Atlantic rainforest. They rested there every day after lunch. The residents therefore called the place Cachoeira do
Convento - "Waterfall of the Convent".
The Moquém restaurant is located right next to the Convento waterfall and invites you to linger and
relax. The water falls 15 meters over the edge of the cliff into a small lake. The restaurant was built with local stones. It seems as if the rustic architecture was built by nature
itself.
We have been serving regional specialties such as Bolinha de Mandioca, grilled meat, Pirão and fish stews for 33 years. Guests enjoy the view of the landscape and the sound of the waterfall while
eating. "It helps with digestion," says restaurant owner Isaac Barros.
The restaurant is open on Sundays. You
can also enjoy typical regional cuisine on other days, but you should register briefly.
